Between 1950 and 2005 the global urban population has more than tripled to reach 3.15 billion (UN estimates it to become 4.5 billion in 2015). Thus, urban policy is becoming one of the most important issues of the increasingly developing world.
During this year's International Student Academy, a group of international students will to try to analyze the public and private policies in a different, on-the-ground way that gives surprisingly interesting answers. In the end, policy is always applied on a local basis; its most complex answers are for urban areas.

We would therefore exhibit different issues about cities and human agglomerations in general, their distinctive features, common problems and the numerous answers.
Instead of to paying attention to a single area (for instance to public policy or urban planning) we would like to look for multi-dimensional, complex and concrete answers to some of the most critical questions that lie in front of us: global migrations and urban sociology, financial attractiveness, architecture or sustainable development in its many forms (one may argue that having an over-indebted society because of mortgages is as unsustainable as many environmental issues).
As we would like to make this experience as interactive as possible , we would be happy to answer to have your comments or suggestions!
